Serving on the School Board has ben an incredible honor, and I am proud of what we've been able to achieve together.  I've worked hard to keep our schools strong, safe, and welcoming for every child.

But our work is not finished.  I am committed to building on this progress with initiatives already underway, and new ideas to prepare our schools for the future.

Accomplishments in my first term
  • Responding to increasing student enrollment growth coming out of Covid, with over 13,000 students projected to enroll in the 2025 - 26 school year
  • Managed budgets in a fiscally responsible manner, enabling Wayzata to be in an elite group of school districts with a AAA Moody's bond rating
  • Helped pass a Technology Levy
  • I was fortunate to witness the implementation of the READ Act, which uses the science of reading to boost literacy, and educate students everywhere
  • Attendance Area redraw - approved boundary changes in the district to ease pressure on building space
  • Expansion at West Middle School to convert underutilized space into new music classrooms
  • Relocating the Transition program to the former District Administration building because of growth of the program
  • Extra serving line at Wayzata High School cafeteria to ensure more time for kids to eat
  • Updated Media Centers
  • Approval of School Board Members visits to school buildings to promote transparency
Work in progress
  • Facilities review to ease pressure on classroom space
  • Possible referendum to expand classroom spaces to accommodate growing enrolment
  • Focus on reducing class sizes
  • Renovation/additions to have full kitchens at 3 Elementary schools
  • Review, and possibly implement, sustainable energy initiatives such as Geothermal and Solar
  • Approval of Community Listening Sessions by the Board
  • Approval of student Representative(s) on the School Board
